The City of Tahlequah owns and operates the
garbage and landfill service for the
citizens of Tahlequah, not Tahlequah
Public Works Authority. You will
receive a monthly bill from Tahlequah Public
Works Authority that reflects your garbage
rate, prescribed by City Ordinance.
When you pay your gas, water or electric
bill you also pay your garbage rate at the
same time. This method saves the
resident time and money by paying the one
bill at Tahlequah Public Works Authority.
Per City Ordinance, all trash must be placed
in PLASTIC BAGS, tied and placed at
the street for pickup. Boxes and
cartons will be picked up if mashed, bundled
and tied.
Rate
structures, complaints and changes in
service are conducted by the City Council
and NOT by Tahlequah Public
Works Authority. Please direct all
complaints, questions, or comments to the
Supervisor of Solid Waste Services at
456-8332. The Solid Waste Services
business office is open between 6:00am to
3:00pm, Monday - Friday, and
9:00am to 3:00pm on Saturday.
Tahlequah Public Works Authority can not
assist you with problems concerning garbage
and land-fill services.

Solid Waste Services.

Holiday Trash Pick-Up Schedule
If a
holiday falls on a Monday, Monday trash will
be picked up on Tuesday, and Tuesday's trash
will be picked up on Wednesday.
If a holiday falls on a Tuesday, Tuesday
trash will be picked up on Wednesday.
If a holiday falls on a Friday, Thursday
trash will be picked up on Wednesday and
Friday's trash
will be picked up Thursday.
*Thanksgiving week, trash will be picked up
Monday and Tuesday only during this week.
*Christmas week, trash will be picked up
Monday and Tuesday only during this week.
